Well, that was weird...

Well, that was weird... DS just left for his first drill with the National Guard.  It was weird to watch him get ready and see his dad in all of it.  The way he put on his backpack and poofed the air out of it, the way he searched for his green pad and put it in it's place.  It was just funny.

When he was little he watched his dad get ready and would try to get in his duffle bag or whatever he was packing so he could go with him.  Now here he goes off on his own.  He'll be leaving for basic before I know it and how bittersweet that will be.

I don't think I've mentioned any of this on here yet!  Well, DS has enlisted in the MO National Guard.  He will go to basic training and AIT this summer and then will contract with ROTC for the remaining two years of college and then he plans on being commissioned Active Duty Army.  He's excited and his dad is ultra proud.

  1. It's just so hard to wrap my mind around the fact that all those kiddos from "teen group" are fully formed adults now!

  2. Hi Sherri! I'm Heather and I was hoping you would be willing to answer my quick question I have about your blog! My email is Lifesabanquet1(at)gmail(dot)com :-)
