Talk about time flying...

DS is a junior this year and is looking at colleges.  This weekend was his first college day.  We had planned on going down with friends but DD got sick so DS just went with our friends.  I was sad not to get to go too but it definitely couldn't be helped.

So, anyway, DS visited Southwestern College in Winfield, KS.  It's a small Methodist college.  Our friends know lots of people there and were able to introduce him around.  I think he liked it.  It is definitely one of his top choices and that makes this momma happy.  It's the closest of all the colleges he's considering and it's 4 hours away.

When did this happen?  When did my baby get to be old enough to be looking at colleges?  Oh my, how they grow up so fast.  I remember this little guy like it was yesterday.  What a sweetie!  What a cutie!  Oh how he loved me!

Now, he's all grown up and planning on colleges.  He's looking for good theater arts, music and maybe English departments.  Yep, he is totally into liberal arts.  That is just HIM.  He's a great actor, an excellent musician, and a wonderful writer!  I am so very proud of him and want the very best for him. I just hope he doesn't go to a college too far away.  We already know he wants to do a study abroad program at some point which just may KILL me but how exciting for him if he could do that.  He has very high aspirations and is very focused on what he wants.

He's an awesome kid, young man.  He still loves me of course, I'm just not the center of his world anymore.  So hard and wonderful all at the same time to watch our babies grow up and let them go as the time comes.

So, we'll be planning more college visits in the future and hopefully I'll get to go to them!  LOL  So, Southwestern College, University of Evansville, Duke... my son is interested!  What can you offer us?  Hopefully we'll see you soon.

  2. Thank you Kim. We are hoping to make a trip out there after the new year. My son homeschools and is dual enrolled at our local community college (Kansas City Kansas Community College). Any information you wanted to provide for us would be great. He's very interested in Theater and Music and lately is becoming interested in writing. You can email me at mommy22ss at me dot com.
