Well, I doubt you know this about me but I have written a couple or so children's books. Picture Books to be exact. They are cute about my kids/for my kids. I've never really done much with them. I used an old Print Artist program to illustrate them but that's it. I've wanted to send them in somewhere to be published but I don't know where I should send them or exactly how to send in a children's book and I am scared too. Plus, I'm not sure I want to give up rights to them!
Anyway, I've been thinking about them again, and decided to have DD illustrate one of them. She has been working hard them. Her illustrations are so cute. Then I got to thinking again and started a new little book last night and finished it this afternoon. It still needs some polishing and of course some illustrations. I've been thinking about doing up some drawings myself for this one.. I don't know if that is possible but I have some ideas so I thought I just might try. We'll see.
SO... I've been wondering about getting published... self-publishing, queries, agents and so on... It's all very overwhelming and can be discouraging. How does one get into this business? What does one need to do? Where does one start? Is it even possible for a nobody to get noticed?
This is what I'm doing these days.... writing, thinking, writing, researching how tos and so on. What have you been up to lately? Know any agents or publishers who would be interested in a stay at home nobody who likes to write? :o)
