Hello Dear Cyber friends,
Well, I started to say that you all probably know that I'm really in to being "Green" and natural home remedies and so on and so forth and then I thought, you just might not know that about me, but now you do.
Anyway, I am very into the whole natural kick and saving the environment and of course saving myself and my family. So, I've been taking an aromatherapy class which I think I mentioned before. In doing so, I decided I wanted to learn to make my own soaps and shampoos and such and I have been researching it.
I discovered a solution that was mentioned over and over all over the internet. So I tried it. It was using an apple cider vinegar rinse as a "conditioner" after shampooing. Today, I decided to try it and WOW. My hair is so soft and not nearly as fly away. I'm not talking about that "too Soft" kind of thing where you feel like it's drab and just hanging there limp. It's just a wonderful soft with body and all. I really like it. It's definitely worth a try.
Just thought I'd share.
Just some ramblings by a mother of two great kids and wife to one wonderful man. Don't really have a specific topic just wanted a place to muse.

Aromatherapy

I love aromatherapy. I have used it quite a bit with great success and so now I'm on an adventure in learning. I'm taking a "course" in it right now but it doesn't have any interaction with a teacher. I'm just doing this one to get my feet wet a little and then if I still enjoy it, I'll take a certificate or diploma type course. It's very exciting and I really enjoy it.
I first started with it after we moved here and DS was having a terrible time with his allergies and sinuses. It worked so I read a little more. Then DD was having lots of earaches but thankfully they weren't infections I discovered that a warm compress with a little lavender oil placed on the ear worked wonders! Then she was also having some tummy aches with nausea (I think because she didn't like school, she was in public school at the time) and I would put a little peppermint oil on a tissue or hanky and whenever she felt a little nauseated she would smell it. It seemed to really ease it and sometimes relieve her of it all together.
All of that sold me on the use of essential oils and so I've been using them for this and that ever since. DH actually likes it too and he is the one really encouraging me to learn more.
Well, I'm off to study for a little longer. Have an aromatic day!

Time flies...
I haven't updated here in a while. Let's see what's been happening....
A few weeks ago, DH's stepmother passed away and so he came home on emergency leave. It was wonderful to have him with us again but it was a very stressful time. He'd been gone for just a few days shy of 6 months when he came home and we still have more than 9 to go. UGH!!! He left on Sunday of this week to go back and it's been really hard readjusting for me. The kids are doing great but Mom is barely hanging on.... I'll pull myself up soon and be fine. It's just taking me a little longer than usual.
OH! Today is our 16th Wedding Anniversary! I just got done talking with him so that was nice. A friend of mine and I are going to lunch today. She doesn't know it's my anniversary but it will be our little celebration.
DD has decided to be a Marine Biologist. She is 9 so I'm sure it will change but she is having a blast studying dolphins this week and she wants to do whales soon too.
DS is an AWESOME guitarist! He amazes me everyday. I came home today after hearing a song on the radio that I thought he should learn to play, "Silent Lucidity" by Queensryche and he was playing it pretty well within 30 minutes! He gets the music online, prints it off and just goes to town. He's really good. (Please don't judge me by my music!!)
We've had a few catastrophes lately but I'll spare you the details, just know they are all being taken care of for now. Thankfully we have some really good friends who are always there to help. So I guess that's it for now. I'll try to get over here more often to update. I have a facebook now and well I play on that all the time so.... It's WAAAAYYYYY past my bedtime, 3am. So I'll end for now. Have a great weekend!
