This morning after breakfast I get to take DH to the dentist for some dental work. I don't know how long we will be. After that he is off for the day and tomorrow too. I'm hoping he gets some much needed rest.
The kids will work on their school work and then read until Mom is available again.
We've been doing a pretty good job of keeping up with the house. I still need to do the floors but other than that we are pretty tidy for now. That is such a relief. Getting up in the mornings is so much easier knowing that the house is basically clean. Yea!
Well, I need to get busy with breakfast.
Just some ramblings by a mother of two great kids and wife to one wonderful man. Don't really have a specific topic just wanted a place to muse.

Still been busy...
That's a good thing though. At least I'm not being lazy! The kids and I went through a lot of their art yesterday and picked some of their favorites to do something special with. We even placed a couple of them for sale in our online store. They thought that was neat. You can look at them here.
Today, I have a got to vacuum our house and sweep the floors! I'm terrible about doing the floors. I mean terrible!!! I hate to do the floors but I really shouldn't. No excuse really.
I think I'm finally caught up on our laundry. I still have a load or two to do but that's a daily thing for us.
We've been staying on top of the kitchen pretty well. I do have a few books to put up that I got to list to sale but that's it.
I plan on having a slow day today. Just straightening up the house and schooling the kids.
Have a truly wonderful day, dear cyber friends.

Busy
I've been a busy little bee. I'm trying to get myself in order. Priorities need to get straight again. Mine seem to get out of wack every now and then.Anyway, I've got my home back under control. Now if I can just keep it that way for a little while, or a long while!!
I always seem to lose control when DH is home a little extra. I just don't seem to clean, do laundry, whatever, when he is around. I can't explain it, but it true. Weird huh. This is his first full week at work since the new year. They have had lots of holidays and adonsas (not sure of spelling) so they have been off a lot! Lots of 3 and 4 day weekends. Don't get me wrong, I've loved them all. It's been wonderful to have him home I just wish I could my act together when he is.
Anyway, that's what I've been doing. I've been trying out some new recipes too. They have been pretty good too.
Tonight we are having Cheesy Chicken in the crock pot. I'm trying to use it more. It's so easy and really it can be fairly inexpensive as well. I'm even thinking of getting a second one. I was inspired by Homemakerang. She recently posted about using hers, she has 3, and I decided to pull mine back out. I use mine sporadically. But for now we are enjoying it.
On my TO DO today:
1. stretch (done!)
2. put dinner in crock-pot
3. shower
4. volunteer at church
5. library
6. laundry
7. mend DD's pants
Well, that's it for now. We'll go from there. Have a glorious day, dear cyber friends!!

I'm Tired.
Yep, I am. No reason other than it's cloudy outside. Clouds always make me tired.I have lots I need to do. I never seem to get any of it done. I'm always on here. I have got to get off!!! I may just turn off my computer for a while. I can check my email on DH's or the kids and then immediately get off. This computer takes up too much of my life.
I have lots of straightening up to do and then I need to do some school planning too. I need to start a to do list and then just mark things off as I go and add as needed. I used to do this but haven't in a while and well, I need to. I think it helps to see what needs to be done so that I can actually do it.
Well, that's what I'll be doing. That and DD has an orthodontist appointment today. Poor thing she is scared. Today they are putting the "apparatus" in. They never told us a name for it so... Anyway, that's what we are doing this afternoon and then I'm getting busy!!!!
Have a wonderful day, dear friends and let me hear from you! It gets lonely sometimes on this little porch of mine.

Pretty Package Tied Up With A Bow
I opened it see Mardi Gras beads!!
And then a lovely card. These are some of Deanna's "favorite things".
The box contained lots of chocolate goodies, earl grey tea, cocoa and a mug, some Cajun seasonings, a nice post card from Oklahoma, sugar cookie mix, a book (one I've not read yet but have been wanting too), some lotion and other goodies for my hands, coffee, and a little "What I'm Reading" journal. I'm sure I didn't name everything but there is just so much!! I was totally overwhelmed with her generosity. Thank you Deanna!! I love it!

This weekend
We watched 3 good movies this weekend. First we watched "How to Eat Fried Worms". It was cute. I was afraid it would be too gross but it had a great story. We all really enjoyed it.Next we watched "Keeping Up With The Steins". It was really cute too. It made think about how sad it is that American Protestants just don't have many rituals and traditions like the Jewish and Catholic traditions do. This was about a boy's Bar Mitzvah.
Then we watched "The Lake House". It was great! I loved it. We all did.
So if you were looking for some movies to watch, these were all good ones.
Also, I've started an Etsy Shop for our little family. I don't really have much listed yet, I'm going pretty slowly with it but if you are interested, please come check us out. I've added a link in my sidebar or you can Click Here.
Hope you all are doing well. I'd love to hear from someone out there!

Aging?
Well, I have been suffering from symptoms of PMS and perimenopause for a while now. I have found a product that helps so much. I love it! It tastes great and it really works! It really does. DH can always tell when I'm using it or when I'm not. It is called Revival Soy. I love the shakes, chocolate daydream and Vanilla Pleasure. YUM! I use milk to mix it in my blender. I like to add a little peanut butter to it as well. It's wonderful. I also love the chocolate covered soy nuts. Anyway, I just wanted to share this info with you all. I've put a link to the site on my sidebar where you can buy some to try. I promise it's wonderful. It is a little expensive but it is well worth it!
I have night sweats sometimes really bad and severe cramps and breast tenderness as well. Also, mood swings. I can drink a shake or two and notice a difference in just a couple of days. I'm telling you, if you suffer from any of this you should try it. I had been out and OH MY GOODNESS! It's been awful but I have now bought more and can't wait till gets here and I can get back to normal.
Other than this we are doing fine. My back is getting back to normal although I'm having some awful mood swings.
DH and I were able to go have some time together just the two of us on Friday and it was wonderful. We went out to eat lunch and then just did some window shopping. It was fun and relaxing. We don't get that much anymore. He is off again on Monday so that will be nice.
Well, that's about it for now. Have a wonderful weekend!

Hello dear cyber friends,
My back is still bothering me but I am trying to work through it. The kids and I have been busy homeschooling today. We did take a little break to go the grocery store though.
We are reading "My Side of the Mountain" and loving it! We are all enjoying it and look forward to that time every day.
Not a whole lot going on today. There's lots to do but I'm taking it slower due to my back pain. I'm hoping I am on the mend!
Have a great day!

Down on my back...
YUCK! I don't know how it happened but suddenly out of no where today my lower back is killing me! I even have some pain in one leg. Oh, it's terrible.
Needless to say not a lot has got done today. We did get most of our school work done just not the extra fun stuff I had planned.
I've soaked in a warm bath and sat on a massage pad thingy and none of it helped. I took some Motrin too.
Send me healing thoughts, friends. Mom's just can't be down on their back! It's impossible!

Another day
It's cloudy here, but it still seems like a nice day. I guess it's all in perception, how we are feeling. I'm feeling pretty good today. The kids and I had fun yesterday. You can about it over at Our Homeschooling Adventure we played a game and read together. We wanted to see about making our own candles like the pioneers did using the dipping method but I'm afraid it would too expensive for us right now. Plus I would need everything because I know nothing about doing this but it looks fun! Any advice?
We are trying to get our spending back under control. Christmas took it's toll on our budget. We have made a great first step, we are eating our meals at home. We are doing great with it too. We did eat out last night but it was the first time in a month! That's awesome for us. We had planned on cooking out but it was raining so... I'm trying to make due too with the tidbits of food we have in the house and not run out and buy groceries just to be buying. And one last thing... we have added Google Ad Sense to our blogs so please, please, please click on the ads. Every little bit helps!
Well, I need to go and get busy with the kids. We have to go get a birthday present for a neighbor child that has become very good friends with DD. Have a wonderful day, dear cyber friends. Enjoy all that's around you.

Up early...
Yes, I was up early this morning. DD has an orthodontist appointment this morning. She is a little nervous. She is just having molds done for now but she doesn't like that. Later this month she goes to have an a thingy put in that will help spread her pallet to make room for more teeth. That , she is really scared about. I would be too.I'm trying to decide what we need to take with us for school work. I don't know how long we will have to wait so... do I just take a book or should I try a workbook? Should I just not worry about it and just do it when we get home? HMMM..... Then for DS, what should I leave him to do? Just read or a test he needs to take? Hmmmm...... I hate decisions!
Well, I best get off of here... I mean I did get up to get stuff done and instead here I sit! Typical!
Have a wonderful day!
OH! by the way, for those of you in the DFW area here is a great up and coming photographer for you. He does great work! Check out his website http://www.canalesphotography.com/ . You'll be very pleased!

New year...New beginnings....
That's what we have here and now, a New Year and a New Beginning. How wonderful for us! We now have a clean slate! We are so very lucky. We get to start over every year and try to make each new year better than before.Yesterday, I spent the day trying to get on track so that I can meet my goals and help my children meet theirs. We cleaned!! and cleaned and cleaned. I knew my son's room was a mess but WHEW! what a mess!
We spent most of the day on it but it paid off and he now has a better chance of keeping one of his goals now.
DD worked on her room too but it wasn't nearly as bad. I still need to go in and help her out a bit in some areas like corners and table tops but her floor and closet are good.
My kitchen is clean and we have kept it that way for a week now. We've been working together after every meal and keeping it nice and tidy. It's wonderful!! The living room has been kept pretty good too. I love having a clean house.
Now, I just need to get busy on my bedroom and we will be good. It takes time. It took time to get this way and it will take time to get it beautiful again. I have patience but also determination! I can do this!
Right now I am sitting her with kids as they do their schoolwork. I love watching DD concentrate. She is so cute. It's nice to see them both working hard and doing well. Times like this I love homeschooling!
I'm reading a book called, "Mrs. Sharp's Traditions". I love it. I only wish that I had read it much earlier in life! When DS was a baby would have been a good time. Now my children are 12 and 7 and I'm so afraid I missed out some. I actually really did a lot of what she says for the everyday when my oldest was very little but since I've become somewhat lazy and this book has come into my life at a wonderful time. I just hope it's not too late. They it's never too late so I hope so in this case too!
I love the book so much that I bought myself a copy (I had checked it out from the library) and bought a couple of extra copies for wedding gifts.
Well, the dryer is calling my name so I best go and answer for now. Have a truly wonderful day filled all the joys life brings.
